Akhila Mohan CG is an award-winning poet and writer, currently based in Bengaluru, India. She likes writing free verse and haiku poetry, essays, short stories and research articles. She is pursuing her PhD in the area of the trauma of exile.
More than 50 of her creative write-ups have been published in national and international literary journals, anthologies, and platforms including Unstamatic, TMYS Review, Scarlet Dragonfly, Whiptail Journal, Failed Haiku, Café Haiku, Under the Basho, Juggernaut, Readomania, Youth ki Awaaz (YKA) and others.
Tamarind: Sweet and Sour Poems about Love, Loss, Longing, and Life, published by Kitaab, Singapore, is her debut poetry collection. She is the recipient of P.B. Shelley – Youth’s Unextinguished Fire International Poetry Award (August 2021). Akhila, writes and talks about issues concerning gender, exile, nostalgia and mundane human experiences. She is also a book reviewer and talks about books and literary topics on her YouTube channel.
